Point Park's Grenek upset by ranking
PITTSBURGH — Butler graduate and Point Park University women’s basketball coach Tony Grenek is upset by his team’s No. 25 ranking in the NAIA Division II Coaches Poll this week.
The Pioneers are 23-2 this season, sporting the second-most wins in NAIA Division II.
“I think it’s very unfair,” Grenek said in a released statement. “We just played 13 games in 30 days, played three games in less than 48 hours this past weekend, and the majority of our conference games are played on back to back days.
“I may sound like sour grapes, but I don’t like it when my players are getting treated unfairly at all levels when they sacrifice and bust their butts for me every day.”
Butler graduate Katresa Savisky and Karns City graduate Ashley Campbell play for Point Park, which faces Indiana University Southeast Saturday.
