SRU women set record in hoop win
The Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team set a program record for fewest points allowed in a single game when it defeated visiting Penn State-Greater Allegheny 65-24 Monday evening.
The Rock (2-2) held the Lions to just 12 percent shooting (6-of-50) from the field in the victory.
The Lions (3-5) committed 20 turnovers to The Rock’s nine.
Junior guard Taylor Siggers paced SRU’s offense with 21 points while adding four assists and six steals. D’Asia Chambers and Erica Aiello both corralled seven rebounds.
SRU hosts Penn State-Fayette tonight at 6 p.m.
