Terry Foertsch, left, his dad, Vernon and children, Timothy, 11, and Granite, 15, of Saxonburg recently cut about 1½ acres of oats with an old-fashioned grain binder on Guy Daubenspeck's farm in Connoquennessing Township. The Foertsch family and others will be separating the straw and chaff from the grain using a threshing machine at the 2019 Butler Farm Show. The 71st Butler Farm Show starts on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019.

Route 68 was closed Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2019, after a vehicle accident near Butler First Church of the Nazarene. Butler Township police said a woman crashed the vehicle into a pole at the intersection of Route 68 and Oakdale Road around 5 p.m. The woman suffered minor injuries. Power wires were down across Route 68, and police said the road was closed from Oakdale Road to Eberhart Road until West Penn Power arrived at the scene.Seb Foltz/Butler Eagle
