Jennings Environmental Education Center will host a Prairie Improvement Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 19 at the center on Route 528, Brady Township.
The event is free but registration is required by Jan. 14.
Volunteers will help the Jennings staff manage the prairie ecosystem.
Lunch will be provided, and each participant will receive a commemorative soup.
Participants must be age 12 or older and should dress for the weather, including gloves and warm, waterproof boots.

The program “Step Into Snowshoes” will take place through February when conditions are suitable. Snowshoes are available to borrow and use within the park on a first-come, first-served basis, for free. One person in the party must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
Snowshoes are available between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. when the center is open, which is Mondays through Fridays and on snowy Saturdays. Call 724-794-6011 to check snow depth and trail conditions.
[naviga:h3]Group hosts dinner theater[/naviga:h3]
Sing Hosanna! will present “What Happened After Once Upon A Time” as a winter dinner theater show.
The one-session only will begin at noon Jan. 19 at St. Peter’s Parish Hall, 127 Franklin St. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m.
The cast includes Leah Harris, Anya Maschmeier, Jordan Davis, TommyLynn Kilian, Than Archer, Katie Ball, Alayna Bestwick, Kyleigh Spink, Peyton Rockcastle, Isaac Hixon, Simon Archer, Olivia Slater, Miranda Vrabely, Camden Rockcastle, Evie Archer, Emma MacDonald and Quintin Hixon.
The menu will feature homemade lasagna and meatballs.
Tickets are $22 for adults and $7 for children 10 and younger. Tickets are available in advance only, and reservations are required by Jan. 16.
