VALENCIA — Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., will have a new member class from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 in the VPC Lounge. Lunch will be provided.

The Butler County Symphony Association announced its upcoming second half of season:Feb. 5: “Scottish Reverie” featuring Berlioz's “Rob Roy Overture,” Bruch's “Scottish Fantasy” and Mendelssohn's “Symphony No. 3, Op 56 (Scotch).”March 5: “Tchaikovsky's Fifth” including Tchaikovsky's “Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64,” and Smetana's “The Moldau from Ma Vlast.” The symphony Side by Side Selection and Concerto Contest Winner will perform.April 10: “Guys and Dolls” (3 p.m.) The BCSO brings this Frank Loesser classic score to life with a semi-staged production in collaboration with Butler Musical Theatre Guild.The association is giving away two tickets to either its February or March concert to the first 100 people who call the association at 724-283-1402. Participants are to say they saw the announcement in the Eagle.Those who get voice mail, should leave a message, which is time stamped.Concerts, which are in the Butler Intermediate High School Auditorium, begin at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and March 5, and 3 p.m. April 10.

Butler Little Theater has postponed showings of its production of “The 39 Steps,” which was supposed to run next week.The show will now run from March 4 through 12.A post on the theater's website says the rise in COVID-19 cases and exposures led to the decision to postpone the production. The post also says the theater staff will be contacting members over the next few weeks who already reserved their seats to ensure seats for the new dates.

CRANBERRY TWP — Cranberry Township seeks volunteers to help clear certain residents' properties during winter weather and those in need of assistance shoveling.The Snow Angel program pairs volunteers with those in need of assistance during winter weather, as volunteers help remove snow and keep sidewalks and driveways safe. It's designed to help minimize the difficulties of snow storms, both for elderly or disabled residents who may be unable to clear their sidewalks and driveways and for the community at large.The program runs from January through the last snow storm of winter 2022.Those interested either in volunteering or in receiving help can sign up on the township's website at CranberryTownship.org/SnowAngels.
