Adult education center receives funds
GROVE CITY - The Grove City Education Center for Adults was recently given a check for $1,000 from the Mechanical Contractors Association of Northwest Pennsylvania.
The center was selected because of its exceptional work in adult education. The center on West Pine Street provides free, confidential one-on-one tutoring to adults who need to improve literacy skills in reading, math and English.
These skills will help these clients in completing a GED, getting a job or advancing in their current job. All books, materials and tutoring sessions are free.
The Mechanical Contractors Association of Northwest Pennsylvania includes plumbing and heating contractors.
It selected the Education Center for Adults as one of the beneficiaries of its second annual MCA of Northwest Pennsylvania Benefit Golf Outing.
Beneficiaries were selected from 11 counties of northwest Pennsylvania.
