12 KC students' excellence honored
KARNS CITY — A dozen Karns City High School students were recently awarded $250 each through The Challenge Program sponsored by the Chicora Medical Center and Sugar Creek Rest.
Award winners were honored for outstanding achievement in class attendance, community service, grade-point average and overall improvement throughout the school year.
Receiving the awards were sophomores Brittany Lessner, Dustin Sheerbaum, Clifford McClure and Kaitlin McConnell; juniors Dale Barnhart, Timothy Double, Katy Greenert and Shawn Crawford; and seniors Lisa Kaylor, Joseph Acquavita, Kimberly Everetts and Lauren Anderson.
The Challenge Program gives the students each a check for immediate use.
This awards program was created by Johnstown businessman Daniel T. Perkins, owner of a group of technology companies.
