Sherri Young

Sherri Renee Young, 59, of Butler, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2021, at her residence.

Born July 28, 1962, in Butler, she was the daughter of Charles and Shirley (Jones) Carothers.

Sherri was a graduate of Moniteau High School.

She was employed as a receptionist for Tri-Rivers.

Sherri was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church in Butler.

She enjoyed having couch time and cuddle time with her grandson, Christian.

Sherri liked watching the shows “The Voice” and “Law and Order.” Most of all, she loved to make others happy.

Surviving are her spouse of 21 years, Gregory Jack of Butler; her sons, Craig Young of Butler, and Mark Carothers and his wife, Sarah, of North Potomac, Md.; one grandson, Christian Carothers; one brother, Ted Carothers of Kittanning; her nephew, Joshua Carothers of Centreville, Va.; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Larry, Barry and Kenneth Scott Carothers.

YOUNG — Family and friends of Sherri Renee Young, who died Monday, Jan. 3, 2021, are invited to a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Anette Gerber officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Chicora.
