Martha J. Allison

Martha J. Allison, 98, of Prospect, went to her new home in Heaven to live with Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.

Martha was born June 20, 1923, in Herman, and was the daughter of Oscar and Rose King Oertel.

Martha was a lifelong member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Prospect. She loved her church and her church family.

Survivors include four daughters, Dolores “Dolly” (Bill) Hays of Prospect, Patricia (Donald) Powell of Butler, Nancy (Kenneth) Anderson of Oklahoma, and Carol (Robert) Christley of Prospect; one son, Robert (Betty) Allison of Florida; one brother-in-law, Dean (Peg) Allison of Butler; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Allison, whom she married Sept. 6, 1941, and who died Jan. 17, 2009; two brothers; three sisters; and two grandsons, William Todd Hays and John Hays.

ALLISON — There will be no public visitation for Martha J. Allison, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.

A private family visitation and funeral service will be held with the Rev. Ben Oesterling from Mount Zion church officiating.

Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 900 Mount Zion Church Road, Prospect.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jay Bryan Funeral Home in Prospect.
