Ryan Stewart

Ryan Stewart of Meridian recently received his juris doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.While at the law school, Ryan served as legal writing teaching assistant and as articles editor for the Pittsburgh Journal of Environmental and Public Health Law. He was a member of the Federalist Society and worked as a certified legal intern in the School of Law's Elder Law Clinic.Ryan received the Murray S. Love Award for excellence in the school's trial moot court competition and served as a legal intern for Thomas Hardiman, a then-federal district court judge. Ryan also was winner of the Wallace S. Gourley Trial Moot Court, a competition sponsored by the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.A 2001 graduate of Butler High School and a 2005 graduate of Grove City College, he is the son of Corb and Kathy Stewart of Meridian. Ryan accepted a position with Blank Rome in Philadelphia.———

Jason Pierce of Butler received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Washington and Jefferson College. A 2004 graduate of Knoch High School, Pierce is the son of Thomas and Karen Pierce. He was a member of the football team and Phi Delta Theta fraternity.———

<B>Nicole A. McCandless</B> of Pittsburgh graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carlow University.She received the award for academic excellence in history and was co-president and member of Students for Peace and Justice.A 2004 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, she is the daughter of Stacy and Jeffrey McCandless of Renfrew.———<BR></BR><BR></BR><B>Cheryl Cranmer</B> of Butler received a master's degree in criminal justice from Boston University.———

<B>M. Kathleen Gray</B> graduated April 27 with a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Pittsburgh.She is the daughter of Mary Gray of Butler and the late James Gray. She resides with her husband, Dr. Gene Danko, in Sewickley. Kathleen has a son, Jeremy, of Sewickley.Gray received her associate's degree from Butler County Community College and her Bachelor of Science degree in education, reading specialist certification and Master of Education degree in early childhood education from Slippery Rock University. She received an Administrative I, principal of certification from Duquesne University.She belongs to the Delta chapter of the international honor society Pi Lambda Theta. The title of her dissertation is "An investigation of the relationship between amount and type of reading of fifth grade students and their reading achievement."She is a fifth-grade teacher at Edgeworth Elementary in Sewickley.———

<B>Eric J. Greaves</B> of Slippery Rock graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from California (Pa.) University.He is the son of John and Sue Greaves of Slippery Rock.Eric was a faculty scholarship recipient, $1,000 alumni scholarship recipient and a three-year participant on the men's soccer team.A 2004 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he is employed at The Academy in Pittsburgh.———<BR></BR><BR></BR><B>William Bates</B> of Portersville received a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Boston University.———

<B>Christina McKinnis</B> of West Sunbury received Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and psychology from Allegheny College. She graduated magna cum laude and was an Alden scholar.She is the daughter of Rich and Kerry McKinnis of West Sunbury.She is set to attend Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and will pursue a career in medicine.She is a 2004 graduate of Moniteau High School.———<BR></BR><BR></BR><B>Shari Hileman</B> of Mars received a Bachelor of Arts in economics, magna cum laude, and a bachelor of arts in economics from Boston University.———

<B>Ryan Bobby</B> of Butler recently graduated from Clarion (Pa.) University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, with a dual major in accounting and business economics.He was a member of the accounting club and Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity and volunteered with the Special Olympics and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program of Clarion County. He also was named to the dean's list and will begin his career in Washington, D.C., as a financial auditor in public accounting at Clifton Gunderson.He is the son of Norman and Tammi Bobby and is a 2004 graduate of Butler High School.———<BR></BR><BR></BR><B>Michelle Frye</B> of Butler graduated recently from Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor's degree in liberal studies and English from the College of Arts and Sciences.

<B>Elizabeth Mihalik</B> of Slippery Rock received a bachelor's degree in psychology and business administration from Washington and Jefferson College. A 2004 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, Mihalik is the daughter of George and Laura Mihalik.She was president of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and belonged to Psi Chi psychology honor society, Order of Omega Greek leadership honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta freshman honor society and Gamma Sigma Alpha Greek academic honor society.She received a Rule, Hughes, Murphy Scholarship Award; the Matthew Brown Ringland Prize in the social sciences; and The Wall Street Journal Award. She also received a second-team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Honors award by the College Sports Information Directors of America, and was the PRESBY Award winner for female academic-athlete of the year.Mihalik will attend the University of Notre Dame Law School in the fall.———

<B>Shelby Waltman</B>, of Fenelton graduated cum laude from Robert Morris University on May 10, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.Waltman is the daughter of Daniel and Rebecca Waltman of Fenelton.She was named to the dean's list six consecutive semesters and was awarded the Dean's Scholar Award twice.Waltman is a member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society.———<BR></BR><BR></BR><B>Ruth G. Anderson</B> of Butler graduated summa cum laude from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design.She received the best of show award at the June portfolio review for interior design. She was student of the quarter during the winter quarter. She was on the president's or dean's list every quarter and was a member of the National Honor Society.She accepted a job at Lami Grubb Architects in Pittsburgh.A 2005 graduate of Beaver County Christian School, she is the daughter of Jeffrey and Susan Anderson.———

<B>Maureen Hearn</B> of Butler graduated cum laude from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.She was a member of the dean's list, co-chair of the program board, and student service and leadership award winner.She is currently employed as an intern at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, performing research in the field of gastroenterology.She will attend Jefferson Medical College in the fall.Maureen is the daughter of Mary and Russell Hearn of Butler.———
