Another Lynch gets victory

Sye, son of legend Ed, gets 1st Sprint win

SARVER — It was a historic day for the Lynch family at Lernerville Speedway late Friday night.

Sye Lynch, the son of Lernerville legend Ed Lynch Jr., started in the front row of the 25 lap Sprint main event and shook off an early challenge by Gerard McIntyre to claim his first feature win.

Fans roared when Lynch pulled the familiar 2L Sprint car into victory lane.

Lynch Jr. retired two years ago after spending more than three decades in racing.

He hit the brakes with 235 Sprint victories to his name, including an upset win at the World of Outlaws Don Martin Silver Cup in 2002 at Lernerville.

In the Late Model race, Michael Norris nearly lapped the entire field on the way to his seventh win this season.

Norris wasted little time moving up from his 10th spot to the front of the pack. Once in front, Norris lapped everyone but Joshua Powell, who had his career-best finish at Lernerville.

The Modified race was all about the Kings — Rex King Sr. and Rex King Jr.

The pair finished 1-2 with the elder King getting his first victory since 2015.

Corey McPherson avoided disaster in the Pro Stock main.

After spinning out and somehow avoiding contact with another car, McPherson rebounded and collected his fourth win of the season.
