Cranberry's Hinman tops local runners in Boston
BOSTON — Rick Hinman of Cranberry Township had the best finish among 21 Butler County area runners participating in Monday’s Boston Marathon.
Hinman, 34, was the 1,686th person to cross the finish line. There were 29,978 runners registered and 25,746 finished the race.
The top local finisher in an age group was Kim Hohman, 40, of Grove City. She ran the race in three hours, 14 minutes and 16 seconds to finish 107th in the female 40-44 division.
Michael Yankel, 47, of Evans City placed 514th in the men’s 45-49 age division.
Other Butler County area runners competing in Monday’s Boston Marathon, in order of age, included: Carly Clark, 25, of Cranberry Township; Olivia Reddick, 25, of Butler; Melissa Conjack, 31, of Sarver; Jessica Griggs, 32, of Cranberry Township; Mary Tate, 35, of Mars; Kristina Souders, 36, of Cranberry Township; Amy Brown and Lori Fromlak, both 37, of Valencia; Brian Thomas, 42, of Cranberry Township; Jinny Hertweck, 45, of Renfrew; Scott Bowes and Kristine Smith, both 47, of Valencia; John Armstrong, 52, of Grove City; Marilyn Larocca, 54, of Valencia; Bob Pudlo, 55, of Cranberry Township; Thomas Cavicchi, 57, of Grove City; Mark Courtney, 62, of Grove City and Robert Todd, 64, of Butler.
There were 107 countries represented at the marathon.
