[naviga:h3]Santa stops in Freeport

FREEPORT — Santa will stop at Harvest Community Church, 407 Freeport Road, to host breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday as part of “Freeport Celebrates a Small Town Christmas.”

The daylong event, coordinated by the Freeport Renaissance Association, will include a creative kids art show, flea market and bake sale, as well as luminary sales to benefit local veterans. Food will be available at several churches, restaurants and stores.

Photographs with Santa, bagpipe and dance recitals, a miniature train display, movies, raffles and crafts will be among the activities at the former Freeport Junior High School, 325 Fourth St.

Santa will receive visitors and firemen will sell food at the Freeport Volunteer Fire Department, 300 Market St., from noon to 3 p.m.

The annual Christmas parade will be at 5 p.m. The day ends with a Christmas program from 6:30 to 7 p.m.at St. Mary, Mother of God Roman Catholic Church, 608 High St.

FREEPORT — Freeport Library, 428 Market St., will sponsor a fundraising flea market and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The sale will include seasonal decor, household items, furniture, toys, used books, cds and jewelry.

JEFFERSON TWP — The Concordia Alleluia Chorale will present its annual Christmas Cantata at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Haven I Dining Room, 112 Marwood Road, entrances 2A and 2B. The community event is free.

This year’s performance, titled “Gabriel and the Angels,” was written and will be directed by Carol Oliver, a resident of Concordia Haven III.

The chorale includes 33 Concordia residents.

MARS — Old Union Church, 200 Union Church Road, is having a Christmas cookie sale.

To order, call 724-538-8672. Pick-up times at the church will be 10 to 11 a.m. Dec. 16 and noon to 1 p.m. Dec. 17.

Pool pass sales nearing end

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department is offering the last chance to buy Alameda Waterpark season passes for the 2018 season.

Passes will be for sale from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday at the department, 184 Alameda Park Road. The office will be closed Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day.
