U.S. Attorney Scott Brady resigns

The announcement Friday that U.S. Attorney Scott Brady is resigning comes after President Joe Biden and the U.S. Justice Department asked 56 Senate-confirmed U.S. attorneys appointed by former President Donald Trump to resign a few weeks ago.

Many sitting U.S. attorneys resign or are asked to resign when newly elected presidents take office.

David Hickton, Brady’s predecessor who was appointed by former President Barack Obama, resigned in 2016 before Trump took office in 2017.

A native of Greenville, Mercer County, Brady also worked as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Pennsylvania for six years during the George W. Bush administration.
