Felony charges continue to mount against a 23-year-old Butler man accused of repeatedly breaking into an ex-girlfriend's house in the city and violating a protective order against him.

Jahote C. Dorsey Jr. on Monday again found himself in front of a district judge for arraignment — this time for four felonies.

He's accused in the latest case of twice last week entering the South Street home of his one-time girlfriend and twice hiding from police sent there to find him.

Butler police just five days earlier charged Dorsey in a separate case of sneaking into the same home.

Dorsey is being held in Butler County Prison on a combined $100,000 bail.

Police on Feb. 7 arrested Dorsey at the home, where they found him about 6 p.m. hiding in the basement according to court documents.

It was the third such offense and accordingly, investigators said, his third protection from abuse violation — in the same week.

Dorsey allegedly broke into the house twice on Feb. 4.

His 31-year-old former girlfriend told officers that she suspected Dorsey of breaking into her home through the basement door.

She said she returned home the first time Feb. 4 to find him inside about 11 a.m. She told Dorsey to leave several times but he refused. He eventually fled before police arrived.

But he was back later that day, documents said, about 6:25 p.m., when the victim found him hiding in the attic. Dorsey again ran away before police got there.

Officers that evening checked the woods near Father Marinaro Park but they could not find him.

They were back at the home Feb. 7 when the woman again discovered him inside, police said. Officers surrounded the house and this time captured Dorsey.

He was initially arraigned Thursday on a lone charge of felony trespass for the first uninvited visit Feb. 4. Bail was set at $50,000.

On Monday, police filed two additional charges of trespass and two corresponding charges of flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment — all felonies.

District Judge William Fullerton arraigned Dorsey and put another $50,000 bail on him.

In addition to his criminal charges, Dorsey is charged with violating three protective orders.
