Amy Sue Fredley Shuffler

Amy Sue Fredley Shuffler, 50, formerly of Charlotte, N.C., passed away Sunday at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, after her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born April 12, 1966, the daughter of Deloris M. Harvey Fredley of Buffalo Township and the late Alvin E. “Ike” Fredley.

Amy lived the past 26 years in Charlotte, N.C., where she was a music teacher for 23 years at Lansdowne Elementary School in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District.

She graduated in 1984 from Freeport High School and received her degree in music education from Grove City College in 1988.

Amy was a member of the Sharon Forest Baptist Church in Charlotte, N.C., where she was a pianist. Amy loved playing the piano and organ, which was her specialty. Amy’s many students, relatives and friends will miss her sweet smile, warm hugs and friendly disposition.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her children, Christopher Kyle and Sydney Nicole Shuffler of Charlotte, N.C., who were the loves of her life. Also surviving are her siblings, Marlene D. (Gerald) Bundy of Winfield Township, Robert A. Fredley of Ebensburg, Dale E. (Susan) Fredley of Mars and David C. (Sherry A.) Fredley of Buffalo Township; and Franklin E. Shuffler of Charlotte, N.C.

SHUFFLER — Visitation for Amy Sue Fredley Shuffler, who died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Duster Funeral Home, 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Buffalo Township. Everyone is asked to please meet at church. Burial will follow at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests contributions to Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 678 Sarver Road, Sarver, PA 16055.
