Trio arrested in drug raids
A federal drug sweep Wednesday in Butler County landed three suspects in the county prison on state charges.
Charged with felony and misdemeanor drug possession are Elijah J. Lane, 26, and Krystal M. Miller, 31, both of Butler; and Shameekha M. Mu-Min, 28, of Upper Darby, Delaware County.
The defendants were arrested during an FBI-led roundup of suspects charged in a federal indictment unsealed Wednesday. Lane, Miller and Mu-Min are not named in the indictment.
A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh indicted nine defendants June 9 on charges of trafficking fentanyl, heroin and cocaine. Those indicted were part of a network that supplied the drugs to Butler from Philadelphia, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. State police and the Butler County Drug Task Force assisted the FBI's Opiate Overdose Task Force in the investigation that led to the indictment.
Federal, state and county authorities conducted simultaneous raids around 6 a.m. Wednesday at different locations in Butler and Washington counties.
