Richard Gilmore
Richard L. “Rick” Gilmore, 67, of Grove City passed away in West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 5, 2021, following a short illness.
Known to his family and friends as “Rick” or “P-Rick,” he was born on Aug. 6, 1954, to Glenn L. and Jean E. (Brenneman) Gilmore.
Rick married Cynthia M. Biertempfel on Aug. 2, 1991.
Rick was raised in the Baptist faith.
He retired as owner and operator of Gilmore's Garage in Pine Township, where he was in business for 21 years. Previously, he was employed at the former Cooper Bessemer for 27 years, working in the foundry testing department and maintenance.
He was a longtime member of the VFW Post 519 in Grove City. He formerly was a volunteer fireman with the Pine Township Fire Department.
Rick enjoyed classic cars, playing solitaire, campfires and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Rick is survived by his wife, Cindy at home; a son, Devin Gilmore of Grove City; his other son, Steven M. Reeher and his wife, Triona, of Slippery Rock; three grandchildren, Arianna Grace Gilmore, Nicholas Owen Reeher and Mackenzie Rae Reeher; and two brothers, Terry L. Gilmore and his wife, Marta, and Brian Gilmore, both of Grove City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, David L. Gilmore.
GILMORE — Visitation hours for Richard L. “Rick” Gilmore, who died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Andy Frey officiating.
Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
