The intersection of Old State Route 8 and Route 228 will close Monday at 7 a.m., according to PennDOT.

Independence Excavating, Inc. will close the road permanently for a cul-de-sac to be established in its place. A detour will be established to reroute traffic to Park Road from State Route 228 and to Old State Route 8 South from the intersection of Park Road and Old State Route 8 South.

Pennie open enrollment begins

Gov. Tom Wolf announced that open enrollment for health coverage through Pennie, Pennsylvania's state-based health insurance marketplace, began as of Tuesday. Pennie will officially replace healthcare.gov as the state's official destination for purchasing insurance coverage.
