Janet Sue Stetzer
Janet Sue Stetzer, 77, of Butler, passed away Jan. 3, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital while surrounded by her family.
Born March 5, 1944, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Susan (Protch) Uram.
Janet retired from the Butler Area School District as a paraprofessional, following 25 years of service.
She was a former president of the GCU as well as her condominium association. She was a weekly volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
She enjoyed going to the casinos, collecting photos of her children and her grandchildren, along with scrapbooking. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, fostering lifelong friendships and her cat, Oliver.
She was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.
Surviving are her son, David R. (Maria) Stetzer of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Maria S. (Greg) Leslie of Butler, and Laura Jo (Mark) Whitney of Meadville, Pa.; her eight grandchildren, Emily Wuest, Jeremy Stetzer, Melanie Williams, Alison and Nicole Leslie, Paige, Samantha and Marco Whitney; two great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Blakely Wuest; her brother, Dennis Uram of Salem, Mass.; her sister, Susan (John) Brock of Butler; her nephew, John Brock; and her niece, Anne Marie Gomori.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Richard “Dick” Stetzer, who passed away June 5, 2007. They were married Sept. 8, 1962.
STETZER — The family of Janet Sue Stetzer, who died Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, wish to invite friends and relatives to attend a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. Radko Blichar will officiate.
Arrangements have been completed by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
The family asks that everybody attending to kindly wear a facial covering.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church.
