County residents shine at Meadows
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Butler County residents enjoyed a winning day on the harness racing track Saturday at The Meadows.
Carolina Beach, a 5-year-old gelding trained by Bill Bercury and owned by Renee Bercury of Slippery Rock, won the $20,000 Open Handicap Pace.
Royaltyhasarrived, trained by Steve Schoeffel and owned by Virginia and Kathy Schoeffel — all of Evans City — won a race as well. Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown drove the horse to victory, upping the 7-year-old gelding pacer’s career earnings to $322,831.
