Donald R. Kleemann
Donald R. Kleemann, 93, passed away after a short, unexpected illness on Jan. 18, 2021, in Port Orange, Fla.
Donald was born on Oct. 13, 1927, in Butler, to Rudolph Kleemann Jr. and Jessie Tait Kleemann.
Donald founded Standard Insulating in 1947, and left it in the early 2000s, when he turned the business over to three of his sons.
Donald also owned a large rental real estate business for many years. He finally retired in 2009, when he sold his rental properties.
Donald had his private pilot license, and enjoyed flying for many years. He also loved boating on the Allegheny River.
He got his motorcycle license when he was 60, and had fun riding with a group of friends, making many trips to Daytona Beach for Bike Week.
In his later years, he bought a motorhome and traveled the country, hitting every state with his wife, Sally, before finally settling in Port Orange, Fla.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sally of Port Orange, Fla.; his six children, David (Julie) Kleemann of Pittsburgh, Kathy (David) Bazzano of Butler, Gary (Veinda) Kleemann of Butler, John (Kris) Kleemann of Butler, Bruce Kleemann of Butler, Doug Kleemann of Butler, and two stepdaughters, Joell (Will) Dent of Butler, and Nicole (Chris) West of Puyallup, Wash.
He is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Matilda Ruth Kleemann; and his parents, Jessie Kleemann and Rudolph Kleemann Jr.
KLEEMANN — Arrangements for Donald R. Kleemann, who died Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, were handled by Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, Port Orange, Fla.Donald was cremated and per his request, no service is planned.
