[naviga:h3]Churches hold blood drives[/naviga:h3]
BEAVER — The Red Cross recently announced a continued critical blood shortage. Two local churches will host blood drives to help meet the demand:
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Route 68N, Chicora, will have a blood drive from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 23. The event will include a gift card raffle for donors.
St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will have a blood drive from noon to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 23.
Those who donated whole blood earlier this summer at these churches may donate again.
The Red Cross recommends appointments for donors; walk-ins also will be welcome.
To make an appointment or for more information, visit redcrossblood.org, call 800-RED CROSS, or download the Blood Donor App at 3cu.be/blood.
