3 trucks collide; 1 person injured
One person was taken to a hospital Sunday following a three-truck accident.
Butler Township firefighters said the person taken to the hospital appeared to have minor injuries.
At around 12:50 p.m., Butler County 911 dispatchers called Butler Ambulance and Butler Township fire and police to the scene on New Castle Road, about 50 feet east of its intersection with Evans City Road.
All three pickups involved in the accident sat in the eastbound lane, slowing traffic.
Firefighters directed eastbound traffic at the intersection, allowing one lane of travel at a time. Westbound traffic was diverted onto Alameda Road.
Three tow trucks arrived about 1:20 p.m. A silver F-150 had its front-driver side heavily damaged and lodged into the rear-passenger side of a white Chevrolet Colorado.
A tow truck had to use its hook and winch to pull the trucks apart.
A third truck, a dark-colored GMC Terrain, sustained some damage to its rear-driver side.
Traffic resumed at 1:45 p.m.
Police did not have more information available at the scene as they continued to investigate.
