Jajuan Davis scored 22 points off the bench, but the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team fell to Indiana University (Pa.) 89-73 Saturday.

Ed Peterson scored a career-high 26 points for IUP (17-8, 7-4), which clinched a playoff spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

The Rock (7-18, 4-6) remains alive for a spot in the playoffs, tied with Clarion for fourth place in the PSAC-West.

Grove City High School graduate Amber McFeely added nine points and seven assists for The Rock (12-13, 4-6), which trails Clarion by a game for the fourth and final PSAC-West playoff spot.

Slippery Rock University women's tennis coach Matt Meredith picked up his 100th career win recently.

Meredith reached the milestone Feb. 2 as The Rock defeated Otterbein College 6-3.

Meredith, a 1982 SRU graduate, has a career record of 10-2-120. He has compiled a 77-38 record in six seasons as the head coach of the women's tennis program at The Rock.

Junior forward Sarah Aresnault and freshman forward Meghan McGrath became the first Slippery Rock University women's soccer players to earn a first-team, All-American honor recently.

Arsenault, who set school records for career and single-season goals and points, was also named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Year.

McGrath earned the Rookie of the Year award in the conference.

Coach Noreen Herlihy was named the conference and region coach of the year. She has recorded a career record of 101-56-6 in nine seasons at The Rock.

Brad Cieleski won his 18th consecutive match Thursday at Kent State University.

Cielesky is now 28-4 this season and 17-0 in dual meets.
