Man killed in Friday morning Route 19 crash
MARSHALL TWP, Allegheny County — One person died following a collision with a tractor-trailer early Friday morning just south of Cranberry Township.
According to news reports, a tractor-trailer carrying bulk mail was turning onto Route 19 from Thorn Hill Road, about a mile south of Cranberry, around 1:30 a.m. when a Mercury Mountaineer SUV drove under the truck.
The SUV driver, a 53-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to published reports. The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured.
Route 19 was closed between Warrendale-Bayne Road and Freeport Road until approximately 5:15 a.m., KDKA reported.
