New Butler school superintendent to be hired Wednesday
BUTLER TWP — The Butler School Board is set to hire a new superintendent at a special meeting Wednesday night, acting superintendent William Pettigrew said.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Harriger Educational Services Center, 110 Campus Lane.
The school board, after considering multiple proposals, in March hired Templeton Advantage, a consultant to seek candidates and assist in the search process. The contract was estimated to cost about $14,000.
A superintendent search committee was formed that included all nine board members and it has been conducting interviews with candidates in recent weeks.
Pettigrew, who is retired from the Mars School District after 26 years as superintendent there, has been filling in since Feb. 5 when the school board met in executive session and accepted the resignation and retirement of Dr. Dale Lumley.
