Maxine Geibel

Maxine Geibel, 93, formerly of Bonniebrook Road, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the Sunnyview Home.

Born Dec. 28, 1927, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Herman Pastorius and Agnes (Loll) Pastorius.

Maxine was a homemaker and had been the housekeeper for the priests at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, where she had been a lifelong member. She was in the Christian Mothers of St. Wendelin, had enjoyed knitting, quilting, crocheting, gardening, cooking and baking, and had loved to prepare Sunday dinners for her family.

Surviving are her children, Robert N. (Sally) Geibel of Butler, Ronald L. Geibel of North Carolina, Gerrie Palermo of Butler and Cindy Graham of Butler; nine grandchildren, John Domont, Amy (Darren) Peacock, Melinda (Stush) Himelinski, Stacey (Jeff) Bartholic, Dyron (Lisa) Graham, Josh (Courtney) Geibel, Damon (Kendra) Graham, Jordan (Jessica) Geibel and Jenna Geibel; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman A. Geibel, who passed away March 9, 1973; three daughters, Judy, Ruthie and Nancy; two sisters, Mary and Yvonne, and one son-in-law, Frank Palermo.

GEIBEL — Friends of Maxine Geibel, who died Sunday, April 18, 2021, will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. The Rev. Matt McClain, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Wendelin’s Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Wendelin’s School, 211 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, PA 16002.
