Margaret “Peggy” Curtin Hutchinson, 90, of Penn Township, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband, Jim, by her side on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021.

Peggy was born in 1931 in Tulsa, Okla., and was the daughter of John D. and A. Marie Curtin.

She graduated from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind.

Peggy worked as a consulting dietician for Sunnyview Home, as well as being very involved in the family business, Hutchinson's Cleaners & Dyers.

Jim and Peggy just celebrated their 67th anniversary.

Peggy was a member of several clubs and organizations including Butler Garden Club, Butler County Historical Society, Butler Country Club and Butler Literary Club — just to name a few. As a founding member of Holy Sepulcher Parish, she was involved in the annual March for Life as co-chair.

She enjoyed traveling and took numerous trips to Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and many places across the United States. Annually, Jim and Peggy traveled to South Bend, Ind., to attend a Notre Dame Football game.

Along with her husband Jim, she is survived by eight children, Jack Hutchinson of Butler, Dick (Andrea) Hutchinson of Melbourne Beach, Fla., Joan (Frank) Ferraro of Butler, Dan (Gail) Hutchinson of Eden Prairie, Minn., Jim Hutchinson Jr. of Washington, D.C., Steve (Lorraine) Hutchinson of Butler, Anne (Kelly) Hutchinson of Butler, and Peggy (Bob) Lang of Baltimore, Md.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one infant son, Joseph Hutchinson; and one grandson, Benjamin Hutchinson.

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and cousin, who was loved by many and will be missed by many more.

HUTCHINSON — Friends of Margaret “Peggy” Curtin Hutchinson, who died Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler.

The family asks that everybody please meet at the church Saturday morning and to please where a facial covering.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Butler.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Peggy's name to Butler County Historical Society, 123 W. Diamond St., Butler, PA 16001; Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001; or the Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.
