Police: Man shot mom, daughter over worries they were spying
PITTSBURGH — Police say a man shot a woman and her 16-year-old daughter who were his neighbors because he believed they were spying on him.
Authorities responded to the scene in Harrison Township around 9 p.m. Monday and found the mother and daughter outside suffering from gunshot wounds.
A SWAT team was called to the scene after the alleged shooter barricaded himself inside a nearby housing complex. He was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 11:40 p.m.
One report said the mother had been hospitalized in critical condition, and the 16-year-old girl remained in stable condition.
