Emily Brittain Students raise $5K for leukemia, lymphoma
Students at Emily Brittain Elementary School in April collected donations for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The student body did that by hopping for two minutes, raising $5,290.70.
The school had a kickoff assembly to motivate the students. Resident Jim Beck, who is a national board member for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, challenged the students to raise $4,500 with the promise of a school ice cream party for reaching the goal.
Emily Brittain has raised more than $50,000 in the past 10 years for the society.
