Healthy child workshop scheduled for Nov. 23
The Penn State Cooperative Extension in Butler County announced the Color Me Healthy Workshop for anyone working with preschool age children.
The workshop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office in Building 10 on the grounds of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The interactive workshop will explore the award-winning Color Me Healthy curriculum, as well as supportive materials and activities, according to Darlene Sansone, Better Kid Care coordinator.
Participants will develop an action plan for promoting good nutrition, planning healthy meals and snacks, and integrating physical activity appropriate for preschool age children within their own classrooms while addressing the PA Early Learning Standards.
Those completing the three-hour training will have an opportunity to receive a variety of classroom materials for their facility worth more than $100.
The workshop is ideal for neighbors, relative providers, preschool teachers and child care practitioners.
There is a $10 registration fee for the program. To register, go to www.pakeys.org, e-mail dxs74@psu.edu or call 724-654-8370.
