CONNOQUENESSING TWP — The Butler Farm Show last month elected Ken Laughlin as president of the board of directors for 2010.
Laughlin, who has served on several committees, previously was vice-president. Kevin Loomis will replace Laughlin as vice president.
Ken Metrick and Bill Holbein will continue as secretary and treasurer, respectively. There are 17 members of the board.
HERSHEY — Mercer County farmer Donald Koontz will represent Butler County on the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau board of directors.He also will represent farmers in the Beaver, Lawrence and Mercer counties.Koontz downsized his farm in 2007, focusing his attention on marketing offspring of dairy cows for breeding stock. Before that, he operated a 300-cow Jersey dairy farm for 28 years.Koontz has served on the Mercer County Farm Bureau board of directors and was its board president.Koontz succeeds Henry Karki, who had reached the tenure limit of eight consecutive years on the board.Koontz was elected at the farm bureau's annual meeting Nov. 16 to 18.
