Frank Agostino Sr. of Slippery Rock passed away at AHN-Grove City on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021.

He was born in Boyers, to Natale Agostino and Mary Josephine Tartaglione Agostino.

He married Geraldine Ann Gress, who preceded him in death on June 18, 2009.Frank had worked at Allegheny Mineral as a pit boss, and oversaw blasting at the mineral sites.He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, making wine and brandy, baking cookies, and doing puzzles.Survivors include three children, Frank (Linda) Agostino Jr. of Boyers, Randy S. (Diana) Agostino of Volant and Judith A. Agostino of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Mary Ann Nill and Roseanna Tackett, both of Slippery Rock; three grandchildren, Tiffany Agostino, Randa Liggett and Caitlin Agostino; and his great-grandchildren, Jayden, Zander, Mylie, Remi and Andi.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his great-granddaughter, Harriett; three sisters, Catherine Agostino, Clara Leone and Theresa DeCola; and two brothers, Dominick and Nickolas Agostino.AGOSTINO — The family of Frank Agostino Sr., who died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis of Butler presiding.Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
