The fair opened on Friday and will feature new events every day until it ends July 10.

The Big Butler Fairgrounds opened to the public Friday, where the Big Butler Fair was back for the first time since 2019.

This is the 165th year of the fair, but the organizers said each year has different entertainment, activities and attractions to keep it fresh even for the most consistent attendees.

In addition to it being the first fair in two years, the organizers predicted the fair would be well-attended Friday because the Clarks were headlining a free show in the evening.

In addition to the Clarks being a big draw, organizers also said the upcoming demolition derbies are popular events, as well as the “Gigantic Fireworks Display” that always commemorates the 4th of July holiday.

Throughout the week, the fair will offer carnival rides and games and more than 50 food and drink vendors. Other daily offerings include an exotic petting zoo, a comedy hypnotist show, a wood carver show and wandering Syrian clowns.The fairgrounds, at 1127 New Castle Road, Franklin Township, open at 9 a.m. on weekends and 11 a.m. on weekdays, and the carnival opens at 1 p.m. on weekends and at 3 p.m. on weekdays.Admission is $7 before 4 p.m., and $9 after 4 p.m. Children under 4 get in free, and parking also is free.
