Herold

Martha Herold, 96, of Cabot, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born May 4, 1925, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Wise and Alice Monks Wise.

She was a member of Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Saxonburg Ladies Auxiliary, Golden Agers and Jefferson Grange, and delivered for Meals on Wheels.

Martha loved playing cards. She was known for her kind heart, giving nature and her delicious cookies. She was a wonderful mother, who made her family a priority, and was a woman of strong faith.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Donna Beale of Pittsburgh, Kay L. (Chris) VanDervort of New Kensington, Sue (Kerry) McCann of Pittsburgh, and Diana "Dizy" (Paul) Kapalka of Cabot; her brother, Raymond Wise of Butler; her grandchildren, Travis (Rhiannon) Beale of Cabot, Nicole (Anthony) Capone of Leechburg, Melissa (Lee Blair) VanDervort of Leechburg, Maya (Steven Lo) McCann of Richmond, Va., Jing McCann of Pittsburgh, and Alyza (Brooke Nelson) Kapalka of Saxonburg; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Herold; her siblings, Loyal Wise, Alvin "Bus" Wise, Paul Wise, George Wise, Helen Richards, Florence E. Leslie, Mary Alice Wise and Joan Bachman; and an infant granddaughter, Rosa Lynne Kapalka.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the skilled care unit at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, and her special caregiver, Nancy.

HEROLD — Friends of Martha Herold, who died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Services will follow at noon Saturday with the Rev. Douglas Dorsey officiating.

Private interment will be held at Lakewood Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 466, Saxonburg, PA 16056.
