Richard S. Burgard
Richard S. Burgard, 92, of Evans City, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at his residence with his family by his side, after a short illness.
Born Oct. 20, 1927, in Jackson Township, he was the son of the late Sylvester and Emma Wymer Burgard.
He was a member of Gospel Life Church of Evans City, for his entire life.
He owned and operated Burgard's auto repair.
He enjoyed his many grandchildren, enjoyed going on family vacations, trains and classic cars.
He is survived by one daughter, Joyce (Brian) Dakin of Texas; three sons, Richard (Terri) Burgard of Evans City, Randy (Lysa) Burgard of Pittsburgh, and John Burgard of Evans City; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) Leasher of Petrolia, Erin (Dave) Grubbs of Evans City, Todd (Sherry) Burgard of Sarver, Melanie Provost of Butler, Jacob Burgard of Philadelphia, and Karli Burgard of Pittsburgh, and his stepgranddaughter, Theresa Sirotic of Australia; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eileen Best of New Castle, and Caroline (Carl) Young of Michigan; and two brothers, David (Charlotte) Burgard of Evans City, and Leo (Linda) Burgard of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Frances M. Allshouse, whom he married on March 26, 1949, and who passed away April 8, 2020; two granddaughters, Jamie and Kelly Leasher; one brother, George Burgard; and two sisters, Leatrice Gravatt and Emily Springer.
BURGARD — Visitation for Richard S. Burgard, who died Wednesday, July 15, 2020, will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service and burial at 11 a.m. Saturday at Evans City Cemetery.Due to public health concerns and current regulations, attendees are asked to wear a facial covering.Arrangements are under the direction of A.
