Man gets prison in assault case
A Butler man was sentenced to state prison Thursday after being charged with molesting a 4-year-old girl.
Randy L. Fenstermaker Jr., 25, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in a state correctional facility by Judge William Shaffer.
He was also ordered to undergo lifetime sexual offender registration and to pay court costs.
Fenstermaker previously pleaded guilty to felony indecent assault and corruption of minors on Oct. 3.
He was initially charged with felony aggravated indecent assault of a child, aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old, four counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, two counts each of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of a child, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, and two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age after an incident at an apartment building in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street on Feb. 27, 2017.
Several of the charges were withdrawn at the magisterial district court level, and the remaining charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Butler police filed the charges after the girl told her father about the assault, according to court documents.
She also recounted to her father that Fenstermaker told her “not to tell her dad,” a police affidavit said.
During a police interview, Fenstermaker admitted that he inappropriately touched the girl.
