Trista Cottrill Ph.D.
Trista Michelle Cottrill Ph.D., 32, of West Sunbury, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at her home after a courageous battle with triple negative breast cancer.
Trista was born on Aug. 31, 1989, in Butler, as the daughter of William F. McNeish and Tracy L. (Webb) McNeish.
Trista was a graduate of Moniteau High School Class of 2008. She then went to Slippery Rock University, graduating in 2014 with a bachelor's in biochemistry. She continued her education at Duquesne University, graduating in 2020 with a Doctorate of Pharmacy.
She was employed as the pharmacist at the Clearview Mall Giant Eagle.
Trista is survived by her husband, James B. Cottrill Jr., whom she married on Aug. 23, 2014; her 15-month old daughter, Mallory Sue Cottrill; her parents, Bill McNeish of Butler, and Tracy L. McNeish of Slippery Rock; her paternal grandfather, Bill McNeish; her maternal grandmothers, Judy Webb and Judi Ruley; one sister, Lindsay M. Maples of Butler; her best friend who was like a sister, Amanda C. Dollman of Rocky Mount, Va.; one brother, William J. (Jodi) McNeish of Harrisville; and six nieces and nephews, Skyler McNeish, Jackson Bittner, Brianna Ray, Clark McNeish, Claire McNeish and Charleigh McNeish.
She is also survived by her in-laws, Irene (Dave) Morgan and James B. Cottrill Sr., all of Butler, and her sister-in-law, April (Dan) Bittner of Virginia; numerous aunts and uncles; and also her pets, Lily, Rigsby and Lemieux.
Trista was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Richard L. Webb; her paternal grandmother, Connie McNeish; and her uncle, Robert J. McNeish.
COTTRILL — Family and friends of Trista Michelle Cottrill Ph.D., who died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
Funeral services will be held privately Tuesday.
Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Trista's honor may be made to the family for her daughter Mallory's future.
