BUTLER TWP — Shaler will long remember its last trip to Art Bernardi Stadium.

Butler football coach Rob Densmore doesn’t want his team to forget it.

“If our kids don’t recall it, I’ll remind them of it,” Densmore said. “That has to serve as motivation for us.”

The Titans (0-5, 0-3) bring a 19-game losing streak into Butler on Friday night, when they face the Golden Tornado (1-3, 0-3). They came to town two years ago saddled with a 34-game skid.

Shaler won that game, 30-20.

“Their kids were excited with the win and were celebrating, that’s understandable,” Densmore said. “Some of their coaches did some things after the game that were inappropriate.

“Our team needs to remember that. I told them at the time to remember it and do something about it next time they come here.”

Shaler’s win at Butler in 2015 is one of only two the Titans have mustered in their last 55 games.

Butler is 20-17-1 all-time against the Titans, including a 34-16 win at Shaler last year.
