UPMC names Perri VP, chief Medicare officer

Angela Perri will serve as vice president and chief Medicare officer for UPMC's Insurance Services Division, the Pittsburgh-based health insurance company announced Wednesday.

Perri's new role will include responsibility for UPMC Health Plan's Medicare Advantage plan, UPMC for Life, which serves the largest number of Medicare Advantage members in Western Pennsylvania.

Perri's experience in managed health care includes product and program development to support Medicare STARs programs, eHealth, Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Programs (CHIP), Medicare Advantage and Special Needs plans (including dually eligible individuals) and commercial products in nearly all 50 states.

Prior to joining UPMC Health Plan in 2018, Perri served in senior executive leadership roles for several Fortune 100 organizations, including several health care organizations.

This new position builds upon Perri's current role at UPMC Health Plan as vice president for strategy alignment transformation, where she has directed the development of advances such as innovation tools, apps and internal software critical to health plan operations.
