Betty Jane Rieser
Betty Jane Rieser, 92, of Cabot, passed away on Feb. 6, 2019, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
She was born April 22, 1926, in Cabot, and was the daughter of the late George Oscar Bicker and the late Laura Jane Ross.
Betty graduated from Winfield High School and then attended Butler County Community College. She received a Pennsylvania real estate license.
For 11 years Betty was an accountant with the Visiting Nurses Association in Butler, and a payroll administrator for five years for two other companies.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of America in Butler and also worked as the treasurer for the church for five years.
Betty enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, baking, cooking and gardening. She liked playing bridge, traveling and playing the piano.
Betty had an interest in real estate and accounting.
Betty is survived by two sons, Jack (Allyson) Rieser of Glen Allen, Va., and Bruce Rieser of State College, Pa.; one daughter, Jane (Brian) Miller of Bristow, Va.; five grandchildren, CJ (Aleysha) Rieser of Charlottesville, Va., Anne (Frank) Constanzer of Richmond, Va., Rebecca Rieser of Middletown, Md., Matthew Rieser of Middletown, Md., and Jason Miller of Bristow, Va.; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a number of great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Rieser, whom she married on Oct. 23, 1948, and who passed away on Dec. 25, 1976; two brothers, Ross Bicker and Floyd Bicker; one sister, Ida W. Smith; and two nieces, Carole Gildner and Delores Bicker.
RIESER — Friends of Betty Jane Rieser, who died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, will be received on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
