Daniel A. Compton Jr.
Daniel A. Compton Jr., 70, of Butler died Wednesday at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Grove City.
Born May 30, 1935, in Orange, N.J., he was a son of the late Daniel A. and Mildred E. Tratchet Compton Sr.
He was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Art Institute.
Mr. Compton was the owner of D&J Tree Service for 15 years and previously was a partner with the Harold West Tree Service for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, the Epilepsy Foundation in Butler and the Blue Army.
He was an avid pool player.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Compton of Harrisville and Mrs. Shane (Ruth) McMillin of Butler; a son, James Herrington of Butler; three brothers, George Compton of Chicora and John and Thomas Compton, both of Butler; and a sister, Mrs. Patrick (Mary) Green of Butler. Five stepchildren, six grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
<B>COMPTON</B>— Friends of Daniel A. Compton Jr., who died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Cremation services are provided by the Geibel Funeral Home.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Saturday at the church.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
