You bid no one a last farewell,

You said goodbye to none.

You took His hand when you heard Him call,

You turned your back and left it all.

You could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work and play.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

If my parting has left you sadness,

Then fill it with remembered gladness.

You were never selfish, always kind,

What beautiful memories you left behind.

A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss,

Ah yes, these things I too will miss!

So they say in Heaven there ain’t no beer!

So I’m goin’ listen to old time rock-n-roll
