MARS — Members of Mars Borough Council approved several items Monday night during an agenda setting meeting, including:
- Lifting the temporary open burning ban
- Reappointing Christine Clutter as emergency management coordinator
- Appointing Joseph Squire to an open seat on the planning commission
- Reopening the budget to create two new accounts for CARES Act revenue and water electric expenses
- Accepting a $45,708 bid from Protech Asphalt for parking lot paving
- Accepting a $43,307 bid from Protech Asphalt for street paving
- Trick-or-treat being from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31
- A car show organized by John Podolak from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 18
- A uniform expense allowance of $100 this year and $200 next year for work uniform clothes for each public works employee
- Spending no more than $500 for floor mats
- Council went into executive session for matters of property leasing following the meeting.
