Lifesteps and Butler's Rotary clubs will once again offer the Election Day Pancake Festival from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, which is Nov. 2.

The annual event, which offers all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage, will be held at the Tanglewood Center off Fairground Hill Road in Butler Township.

A drink is included, and a bake sale also will be available.

Masks will be required and all COVID-19 protocols will be in place.

Dine-in and takeout options will be available.

Tickets are $7 presale from any Rotary club member or at Lifesteps, 383 New Castle Road in Butler, or $8 at the door.

Children age 5 and younger eat free.

Volunteers are needed for the event. Community members looking for a volunteer opportunity can call Lifesteps' community relations department at 724-283-1010 or email give@lifesteps.net.

All proceeds from the pancake festival will benefit Lifesteps, a local nonprofit that offers family-focused services.

A portion of Henricks Road in Center Township will be closed from Monday through Friday for guiderail replacement.Township officials said the closure will be in place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Evans and Palmer roads.Motorists should use Palmer Road as a detour route.

U.S. Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson, R-15th, on Friday afternoon began experiencing cold-like symptoms and was promptly tested for COVID-19.While he has been vaccinated, the test came back positive.Out of an abundance of caution, he is being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.He is in good spirits and further updates will be made available in the coming days.

U.S. Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson, R-15th, will host a telephone town hall at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to answer questions about Medicare open enrollment.Thompson will be joined by an expert from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.Constituents in the 15th district can sign up by calling Thompson's office at 1-202-225-5121 or at thompson.house.gov.
