WINFIELD TWP - Three people were injured when an ambulance crashed on Iron Bridge Road.

The C&S Ambulance was transporting an elderly woman to Fair Winds Manor around 10:45 a.m. when the ambulance crashed into a ditch, said C&S service director Tom Shank.

The ambulance driver, the patient and an EMT were injured.

The driver and EMT were transported to St. Margaret's Hospital while the patient was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital. "As far as I can tell there were no serious injuries," said South Buffalo Township police officer Anthony Chiesa.

South Buffalo Fire Department and Freeport Ambulance also responded.

Shank would not release the names of the injured. The ambulance was towed.
