Bessie M. Chemelli
Bessie M. Chemelli, 85, of Kittanning died Friday at ACMH Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1931, in Kaylor, Pa., she was the daughter of Joseph C. and Elizabeth J. (Downs) Olcus.
On Nov. 27, 1954, Bessie married Attilio “Til” Chemelli. He survives.
A 1949 graduate of East Brady High School, Bessie worked as the chief operator at Alltel Telephone in Kittanning for 44 years.
A member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Kittanning, she sang in the choir and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Bessie also was a member of the Bradys Bend Historical Society, where she enjoyed helping organize the quilt shows. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Til Chemelli, of Kittanning; two sisters, Sara Young of Grand Haven, Mich., and Catherine (Wilson) Downing of Bradys Bend; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Olcus of Ford City and Laura Capizzi of Hanover, Md.
She also is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
CHEMELLI — A blessing service for Bessie M. Chemelli, who died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady, with the Rev. Douglas Dorula, pastor of St. Mary's Church, and the Rev. John Butler, pastor of St. Patrick Church, officiating.
