Your farewell kiss was never given

Your last goodbye was never said.

Doing all I could to save you

Until God took you away.

We live each day with memories

Of days when you were here.

There isn’t much we can say about the love that’s in our hearts

And how much we miss you each and every day.

Though the grief was sharp and lasting

We thanked God then and do today,

That in our Father’s love and boundless mercy

You were taken to a better place.
