Melissa Quattrone

The 30th annual 2010 Cameo Model USA Pageant was held March 28 at the Kean Theatre in Gibsonia.

Melissa Quattrone, 23, of Butler won the overall high point title 2010 Fashion-Plate USA for the best in modeling, fashion and beauty. A 2009 graduate of Slippery Rock University, she is the daughter of Frank and Sandy Quattrone of Ridgway. She is employed at Pyramid Consulting Group in Wexford.

Jessica Ortiz, 12, of Butler was the 2010 overall talent winner, earning the highest points in the talent competition regardless of age division with her performance of "Don't Rain on My Parade." A sixth grade student at Knoch Middle School, she is the daughter of Ron and Carolyn Ortiz of Butler.

Stephanie Bonzo, 20, of West Sunbury, won the title of 2010 Cameo Cover Model. As winner of the overall photogenic title, she will appear on the cover of the program for the 2011 pageant. She is a sophomore elementary education major at Butler County Community College and employed as a server at Applebee's in Butler. She is the daughter of Dan and Shelly Bonzo of West Sunbury and the late Renee Bonzo.

Lizzie Yousko, 8, of Renfrew won the 2010 Cameo Model All-Star title for excellence in modeling and talent in the Cameo Overall Winner's Showcase. She is the daughter of John and Julie Yousko of Renfrew.———

The Butler County American Legion announced winners of their contests for high school students.<B>Joshua Denny</B>, a sophomore at Butler High School, won the senior oratorical contest with his speech on slavery. <B>Adam Riddle</B>, a junior at Slippery Rock High School, won second place.Denny also won the essay contest focusing on the economic stimulus.Runners-up were <B>Megan Eakin</B> of Knoch High School and <B>Jeremy Jantsch</B> of Seneca Valley High School.<B>Maggie Donaldson</B> of Butler Junior High School won first place in the junior oratorical contest with her speech on the Prohibition amendment. <B>Katelyn Kletzli</B> of Butler Catholic School won second place.

———The following local contestants were selected as runners-up April 9 at the 2010 Kean Idol Amateur Talent Contest Vocal Championship at the Kean Theatre in Gibsonia:<B>Lena Skeele</B>, 12, of Slippery Rock was named first runner-up. A seventh grader at Slippery Rock Middle School, she is the daughter of Nora Ambrosio and David Skeele.<B>Lily Cogley</B>, 14, of Butler was named second runner-up. She is an eighth grader at Eden Christian Academy.

———The winners at the Butler Duplicate Bridge Club on April 8 were:First: <B>Alan Martin</B> and <B>Bill Stewart</B>.Second: <B>Barbara Norante</B> and <B>Ray Kramer</B>.
